Campaign to fund JCCC Graphic Design Club’s Recruitment Showcase
Welcome to Mickey Willard's Personal Fundraising Page!
Your friend Mickey is graduating!
It's a very exciting time. In the spring of 2018, I'll be graduating from JCCC's graphic design career program. You all have been so amazingly supportive during this journey! Each spring, the senior class will display their work at the senior show to network with local design professionals and celebrate our hard work with family and friends. We're in the process of raising funds for our 2018 showcase, and a little contribution from you goes a long way. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for helping to make this happen!
Recruitment, networking, industry jobs
Our Graphic Design program at Johnson County Community College is quite rigorous. Even though we are an Associates program, we compete for the same jobs as the local art & design colleges with four-year degrees. The Kansas City design and advertising community is spectacular! Many of our students are already involved in this community, either through professional groups like the American Institute of Graphic Arts KC chapter, or the American Advertising Federation of KC, or through their internships that they got thanks to our professors and advisors.
The Graduating/Recruitment Showcase started in 2000, and is highly anticipated by both professionals and students. Our soon-to-be graduates start planning the show in the fall, sketching out ideas and brainstorming for a brand that will be applied throughout the campaign. From the postcards we send out to the creative professionals, to the website we create to exhibit our graduates' online presence, we strive to "look professional" and showcase our best .
The showcase is designated to be on the same night as other schools' showcases so that professionals need only go out one night to look for talent. Alumni of our program will come to our showcase to catch up with their classmates as well as recruit the talent of the graduating class.

NOTE: Donations do not contribute to students immediately. Primarily, donations will go to paying for the behind the scenes expenses of hosting the show, such as catering and venue rental. Once those expenses have been met, the remaining funds will be divided by the graduating class to help pay for their personal expenses like printing their business cards and resumes.
We have finished our campaign, raising $4,360! Thanks to all of our donors, we are so grateful for your contributions!
As well as the students who helped make this campaign a success. We have an incredible group of students that came together and used their talents for the benefit of the graduating class and for the graphic design program at JCCC.
I hope you'll join us at the recruitment showcase, Thursday, May 3rd from 5-9pm, at Liberty Memorial.
We have half of our goal, at the half way mark in our campaign! Everyone has been working feverishly to put the finishing touches on their projects this semester. Many thanks to our donors! We can hardly contain our gratitude and excitement.
We are ten days through our campaign and 43% funded! That’s fantastic! Thanks to everyone on our team working hard on this campaign and on making yourselves better designers. But we still need help! Our designers, artists, coders, and makers about to graduate need your help to be able to exhibit their portfolios and network with Kansas City professionals.
Lara Hadley, above left, and Mickaela Hoffpauir, above right, put a great deal of thought into the layouts of their table. Even using the space behind the table to show off the t-shirt designs they made! Both of these talented ladies graduated in May 2017.
